What are the genetic causes of BIPOLAR DISORDER?

The genetic causes of Bipolar Disorder are unknown, but they seem to be linked/similar to that of major Depression. 80%-90% of Bipolar patients have a family history of bipolar disorder. If you DO have a family history, it does not necessarily mean that you will have Bipolar Disorder.
